A deadly plague spreads across the land, borne on food and feasting. To survive in a world where food is toxic, eating has been outlawed. The one shining hope for human survival…is PHood! Synthetic, flavourless, but oh so necessary.
Yet, a small band of food lovers disagree. Disgruntled, dissatisfied, and deliriously hungry, they risk their skins and defy authorities with underground feasts of contraband food. In these stolen moments, life is too tasty to be true.
Follow them on a rollercoaster journey towards their quest in pursuit of a dream they all share – food, glorious food!

Adrian graduated from Keele University with a Degree in Law and Psychology and spent the earlier years of his career as an actor in the UK. Some of his acting work overseas include The Magic Fundoshi (Best comedy at the London Fringe Theatre Awards) and the lead role in Spiralling (Best Film Award at the International Solidarity Festival).
Upon relocating to Singapore in 2001, he has also appeared in Singapore TV dramas like Ah Girl (Winner of Best Actor in a Comedy Series at the Asian Television Awards). Adrian is among the Tatler 300 Industry Leaders Honours list for Arts, Media and Entertainment. Together with his wife, Tracie, they are both Artistic Directors of the Pangdemonium Theatre Company.
Yann Yann is a critically acclaimed actor who has built a successful career across the mediums of film, television and theatre. A household name in Singapore and Malaysia, Yann Yann secured her place in the Singapore entertainment industry after a string of notable films, such as the local box office hit 881, Singapore Dreaming (Winner of the Montblanc New Screenwriters Award at the 54th San Sebastian Film Festival), Love Matters and Being Human. She also won a Life! Theatre Best Actress award for her portrayal in the classic Chinese play, Thunderstorm.
In 2013, her career reached new heights when she was recognised with multiple awards for her memorable performance in the Cannes Camera d'Or winning ILO ILO. For this performance, she was also awarded Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Horse Film Festival and Asia Pacific Film Festival, and Best Actress Awards in India, Russia and Dubai.
Born in China, Jeffrey is an established actor based in Singapore. He has acted in various Channel 8 dramas, including The Recruit Diaries and Life is Beautiful. He has also hosted various programmes on Channel 8. In 2013, Jeffery clinched the Best Actor in a Supporting Role award at the 18th Asian Television Awards (ATA). He also made it to the list of Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes at the 2016 Star Awards.
As one of Singapore’s rare female comedians, Patricia became a household name after her role as an “Ah Lian” on Comedy Nite. Besides acting, Patricia has also established herself as a popular host and actress. She was awarded Best Supporting Actress at the Star Awards in 2003 for her role as a meek wife in Holland V.
A bilingual artiste, Patricia played the leading role in popular English comedy, My Sassy Neighbour. She was also nominated for Best Drama Performance by an Actress in the 2008 Asian Television Awards for her role in Just in Singapore.
Shane started his entertainment career upon completing his NS. He quickly rose to stardom, participating in theatre productions such as The Snow Queen and O Rats the Pied Piper. He also hosted Channel 5’s Spell Cast and Beyond the Physical. His last film appearance was in Unlucky Plaza which was also screened at the Toronto International Film Festival 2014. Other than appearing in several Channel 5 series, Shane has also acted on Suria.
Shu An graduated from the LASALLE BA (Hons) Acting programme in 2009. She is active in the local theatre scene and has collaborated with veteran theatre-makers like Edith Podesta and Elizabeth de Roza. Her credits include the one-woman play with Checkpoint Theatre, #UnicornMoment, which she wrote and was directed by Huzir Sulaiman and Shiv Tandan. Other than acting on local television, Shu An was in Netflix’s Marco Polo and is also popular for hosting the online beauty series, Clicknetwork’s Tried and Tested.
Born in Las Vegas, Bobby fell into the fashion and media industry by chance after suffering from an injury that prevented him from pursuing professional baseball. He has acted in several Hollywood films including Cages and Running Red. He returned to Singapore in 2007 and has acted in Mediacorp dramas The Little Nonya and Fighting Spiders Season 1 & 2. Bobby has also since ventured into Mandarin Television, acting in Hong Bai Xi Shi/New Beginnings, where he spoke almost entirely in Mandarin.
KF Seetoh is an entrepreneur-photojournalist who founded Makansutra in 1997, a platform that shares and promotes food culture. He was recognized as Singapore’s Food Ambassador by then President SR Nathan. Other than his food guides and TV shows on cable, he is also the creator of the World Street Food Congress, an event that aims to preserve and pave new possibilities for street food culture.
Suresh is a stage and television actor. A theatre enthusiast, he has immense respect, love and admiration for the arts and performance. His debut play Anji in 2007 kick-started his journey in theatre. From period plays to experimental physical theatre and audience mediated plays, Suresh has been credited for a myriad of roles, mainly with the local Tamil theatre community. Notably in the highly acclaimed play Akka, Suresh was involved in acting, scriptwriting and directing.
Alexandra is a well-known child actress who has starred in commercials and is best known for her starring role as "Ada" in the Mediacorp smash hit series Lion Mums. Nine years of age, Alexandra was born in Australia and lives in Singapore. Passionate about performing, she is professionally trained in acting, singing and dancing and is bilingual in English and Mandarin. When not performing, she loves playing the piano, watching movies and playing with her little brother.
Silvarajoo started acting in Tamil dramas on television from 1989. In 1994, he starred in his first Channel 5 English drama - Masters of The Sea; the first full-length drama series to be produced in Singapore. Since then, Silvarajoo has been acting in several Tamil and English dramas. He was also involved in several local films, including Just Follow Law, Long Long Time Ago and most recently - Republic of Food.
Patrick is an actor and radio personality from Malaysia. A career in radio, TV, stage and movies spanning more than three decades has earned Patrick the nickname of "Voice of Malaysia", bestowed by his fans and the Malaysian mass media.
An acclaimed Singaporean film-maker, Kelvin’s body of work encompasses a diverse range of film genres, displaying his flair for versatile storytelling. With his production company, Boku Films, Tong has directed, written and produced an expansive list of award-winning films.
His debut feature Eating Air in 1999, won the Young Cinema Award at the Singapore International Film Festival and the FIPRESCI prize at the Stockholm International Film Festival in 2000.
Foraying into the horror genre, The Maid, broke box office records in Singapore and also acquired worldwide distribution. The film went on to win several international awards in 2006, including the European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation Asian Film Award.
An established household name, Kelvin now represents Singapore extensively in international film festivals.
